As the future comes alive

December 1, 2009 · Leave a Comment

YES BABY, THE DAY WE’VE BEEN WAITING FOR SINCE THE START OF JC :D End of A’s marks an end to our studying days, the days of doing papers after papers are over!

And so we went out to celebrate. Headed to Vivo with a few classmates after the paper ended and we decided to have a picnic! Bought an entire roast chicken from Vivomart, German sausages and waffles from a random stall from the basement, plus beard papa puffs. Which turned out to be far too little for Huaqun, even though he had a curry puff and both the chicken thighs!

There was a doodling notebook at the stall we bought our sausage and waffle from, so while waiting we decided to commemorate this special day.

After food shopping we headed to the top level to picnic, yay I love communal eating (:  Then Yoggi Huaqun and I decided to go down to get icecream and candles to celebrate Jy’s 21st! (though it’s about a month belated) Got her Naughty G as well, which tasted real weird. Haha she didn’t know it was a stimulant!

Hung around chatting till 11plus, Paul joined us in the evening as well. It’s nice that those who were there can really keep conversations going, Jy Paul Yoggi especially.

We were discussing about the Sabah trip, going to climb Mt Kinabalu HOW EXCITING :D :D Yoggi’s going to draw up a fitness schedule for us to train up for the trip, cos we’re all in such a bad shape from all that studying and lack of exercise!

Anyway Jon just told me MCQ answers are already out, shoots that’s super fast. I think I’ll rather not count the number of mistakes I make, so demoralizing.

Going shopping with my mum tomorrow, to get winter clothes for Hokkaido and prom stuff as well. She took the day off to spend time with me, how nice (:

ENJOY YOUR POST A’S FRIENDS, BIO PEOPLE HANG IN THERE JUST 2 DAYS TO GO!

Smoky Mountain Memories

AM EXPERIENCING MUGGING INERTIA, DAMN NEED TO FOCUS WOMAN FOCUS!

Life has been good the past couple of days though :D

Went shopping with Jon on Wednesday, in need of retail therapy. Bugis street has hidden gems, but that place’s a huge maze!

Removed my braces on Thursday, then went prom shopping with Val and met Jimmy who was pimping two girls! Haha. Highlight of the night was Paranormal Activity, it wasn’t as scary as I thought. Or maybe I grew braver :D

Celebrated Sarah’s 21st birthday yesterday, had a sleepover and baked Apple Cinnamon cupcakes! Accidentally set our cupcakes on fire, while lighting the candles. Super hilarious, and we videoed the entire episode so we can look back when we’re old and laugh at ourselves.

Today was Physics MCQ day, well at least for those couple of hours I was out. Will be more focused tomorrow!

LAST LAP ALREADY, YAY :D

Brighter than Sunshine

November 25, 2009 · 3 Comments

LIFE IS LIKE HOW AMAZING NOW (:

Woke up this morning not to read Econs notes, practise Math, memorize Physics definitions or do Chem mcqs, such a refreshing change to the monotony of life we’ve been experiencing for the past few weeks! I logged on to hotmail and received an email from a old friend from Sec 2, reading it makes me feel so nostalgic. Four years wasn’t that long ago, but because every year passes in  a flash especially in JC, friendships can fizzle out and all it takes is just one person to take the initiative to start talking again and friendships will re-emerge.

There are other groups of friends whom I still treasure but as time passed and people drift apart, it’s quite hard to just start talking all over again. So to friend from Sec 2 (haha you know who you are), it really takes lots of guts for you to get the ball rolling and I admire you for that (:

Oh a lighter note! Only Physics MCQ left but I’ve already made plans for the rest of the week xD Will make it a point to squeeze in MCQ practices here and there though, else come next Monday I’ll be so out of touch with Physics.

Upcoming to-do list:

[ ] Shop for prom stuff
[ ] Watch My Sister’s Keeper
[ ] Shop for Sarah’s birthday present
[ ] Shop for winter clothes for Hokkaido
[ ] Plan for US trip with the girls
[ ] Plan for class backpacking trip (next week)
[ ] Find a job!
[ ] Read a book and chill out at some cafe (:

I think there are more things to do than that, stuff like writing christmas cards and random outings but too lazy to name everything.

Will blog more about this week’s happenings in the next post, in a few days to come!

And the worst is over

November 21, 2009 · 1 Comment

Hello world I’m back (:

I’m so glad this week is over, and that I survived this week’s mugging marathon. Especially Wednesday’s major screwup for the Econs paper, so far so good just three more papers to go and YESSSS IT’S OVER!

I think as the days pass I become more zen, perhaps cos I’m finally getting used to taking major exams. Anyway first of all I must blog about today!

Econs case study was an afternoon paper, so I was just flipping through econs notes at home around twelve-ish, then I got a call from Val. My phone’s spoilt btw, so she sent me an sms instead:

“Go to your door!”

Confused, I peeked over the gate and OMFG THERE SHE WAS AT MY FRONTDOOR HOLDING A CUP OF ICECREAM TO SURPRISE ME, SO MAJORLY SWEET RIGHT ((:

She lives at the other end of Singapore btw. Totally made my day, heh thanks Val <3

Haven’t seen her in ages, haha I abandoned my Econs and we chatted till it was time to leave for school. Econs case study was way much better than paper two, after which I met Daddy for dinner at Fish&Chicks next to SSC, then forced him to study for his property law exam with me at Starbucks. Law MCQs seem quite fun to do actually, lol.

Just before I end of this post,

Val sent this to me two days back after I told her about my Series Of Unfortunate Events on Wednesday.

Often feel like I’m two steps behind,
Somebody must have moved that finish line.
There are a thousand reasons
Why I should give up
But I’m stubborn in the things I believe.

Promise you, the answer will come
Hold on to patience and watch for the sign
Everything in its time

- Corrine May

Thought it was really meaningful and apt, especially the first line. Life never is smooth sailing, often we have to just shake off the dust and move on.

So chin up girl, and conquer the rest.

Starbucks

November 2, 2009 · Leave a Comment

is my friend (:

Am such a regular at SSC’s outlet, that’s like my new home ground. I must rave that Starbucks service is much better than other coffee outlets around, it’s something I notice throughout the numerous outlets I’ve visited. SSC’s baristas are a nice bunch, and very generous too! Yishun’s outlet has a Mr Megawatt, one of my friends is damn smitten haha.

Oh on a random sidenote, I think my mum is quite cute she lol-ed me in an sms today. Mother’s turning hip :D

A’s in EIGHT FREAKING DAYS, FOAM FOAM FOAM.

Farewell assembly wasn’t a waste of time as I thought it’d be, I’m glad I chose to go to school today. Last-day-of-school nostalgia did set in during the video and the surprise item, “Space in my heart 2″ which was really nice (:

Anyway just a short post, to promote Google Chrome heh.

one week of joy & five weeks of grief

October 5, 2009 · 1 Comment

Just a quick update!

The past week was pretty happening, in chronological order:

Saturday – 50km cycling with Val

Almost died at the last part when we got lost at the Bedok Siglap area, had immense trouble carrying our bikes across the overhead bridge and all of a sudden Singapore’s helpful hunky men disappeared and those remaining merely watched us struggle with our bikes to their amusement. Thankfully we met nice people at the end of the cycling trip, who offered to carry our bikes down another flight of stairs (: After that, jelly-legged and burnt like a lobster, I had to rush off to Sarah’s place for Hari Raya dinner which was simple but nice. Had a good time catching up with her, and listening to her complain about her job and horrible colleagues and boss. Office politics are the worst thing ever!

Monday – Picnic at Botanic Gardens with Jon

It was my second time to BG, the last time I’ve been there was around 8 years ago! Bought sushi snacks and drinks and a picnic mat from Daiso, then we found a nice spot on the grass and chilled out.

Thursday – Cheryl’s birthday & OG outing at Marina Barrage, followed by dinner with Jon to celebrate his birthday

First time to the Marina Barrage, it was pretty cool! Lots of people flying kites and chilling out, not to mention the tourists too. We (meaning Caasi and me) decided to give Cheryl and Clement, the two birthday babies, a surprise and we ended up with a nice little picnic (: Lots of camwhoring as usual!

Then I went back home to heat up the Jap Curry that I cooked for Jon and rushed off to meet him, watched The Ugly Truth which was a pretty good comedy. Happy Birthday big boy! (:

Friday – First day of school after Prelims, class lunch at Pizza Hut after a rather pointless day of lessons

It was cool that we opened up to one another and talked about personal problems, especially Ivan whom I now see in a new light ‘cos I never knew he was so deep and all! And it was one of the rare class outings where the girls actually outnumbered or were close to outnumbering the guys, how cool is that (:

Saturday – Dinner with Benita and Ms Lim (my Sec 2 Math teacher)

The dinner date was a random decision by the two of them, but it was nice catching up with both of them and reminiscing the old times when we had Math remedials after school. So many things have changed, Ms Lim’s no longer teaching at RG but we’re still the same, especially Benita and her whining (heh xD ) and bimbo moments yet she insists that Ms Lim and I are ones who are the B-word!

And so, that was my rather exciting week before a month long of studying and preparation for the big A’s. I’ll strive to study hard, am shit scared.

Prelim results out this week, shall brace myself for the worst. SIGH ):

that bittersweet feeling.

August 31, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Looking through my email inbox,

I feel really blessed to be in 6e (:

It’s almost the end, yet not quite.

A couple more months and it’s gonna be over.

Random quote of the day,

“Worry is like a rocking chair. It gives you something to do, but doesn’t get you anywhere.”

How true.
